War Memorials
We have two war memorials in our church. One lists men from the parish and congregation who were killed in World War One (1914 – 1918). The other lists former boys from St Clement's Church of England School who were killed in World War One The school used to be in Cherry Street in York and the war memorial was moved to the church when the school was demolished in the 1960s. The following list contains names from both memorials. (Some names appear on both memorials). Dates of death (where known) are shown in brackets after the names. Some graves have been visited by members of the congregation and where this is the case a photograph of the grave is included with the entry.
